Information on Progress of the Project

The project has started on 25 December 2014 and ended on 25 December 2016.

Concluded project activities are:

• Inception Report is delivered and on 31 March 2015 opening ceremony was made.
• 30 info seminars in 21 provinces were given between 13 and 21 April 2015, especially to give information about quiz competitions. Coordinator teachers, school administrators, MoNE provincial and district administrators participated at seminars.
• Quiz, painting, slogan, short story competitions are concluded at district and provincial levels. Competitions in three categories were open to participation of students from 81 provinces.
• National finals of the competitions are concluded.
• Award ceremony for the competitions was made with participation of approximately 1,200 people in 11 June 2015 in Ankara.
• Winners of the competitions were given lap-top computer, second runner-up bicycle, and third runner-up chess set.
• Exhibition where works of winners of painting, slogan and short story competitions at each province opened in Ankara.
• Between 30 August and 5 September 2015, final three winning teams and their teachers of quiz competition were sent to Strasbourg and first three winners of painting, slogan and short story competitions were sent to Brussels for a study visit of 5 days as a reward.
• A workshop was made to work on project’s web site and the web portal on 30 July 2015. Attending participants came approximately from 20 different institutions.
• 29 info seminars in 20 provinces were given between 30 November and 4 December 2015, especially to give information about quiz competitions. Coordinator teachers, school administrators, MoNE provincial and district administrators participated at seminars.
• Networking and Communication Strategy of the project is prepared.
• Design, preparation, printing and distribution of most of the awareness and knowledge raising materials and visibility tools are completed.
• The second workshop was made to work on project’s web site and the web portal on 3 November 2015. Attending participants came approximately from 20 different institutions.
• A 3 days training of trainers activity is made between 10 and 12 November 2015 in Ankara in order to make 180 coordinator teachers become trainers on the EU.
• First international conference with the theme of “Turkey and EU Common Values: Reflections on the Education System” is held between 16 and 17 December 2015 in Ankara.
• The first two issues of quarterly periodical with 24 pages and named as “I’m Learning the EU,” which aims to increase communication in-between students, teachers, and schools, is jointly published. A total of 8 issues will be published until the end of 2016.
• Learn the EU web portal is opened with 2 digital games.
• 2 modular trainings is made for MoNE staff between 25 and 27 April 2016 in Ankara in order to increase their awareness and knowledge levels about the EU.
• 2016 quiz, painting, slogan and short story competitions are comleted at district and provincial levels.
• 2016 final evaluation of painting, slogan and short story competitions are held between 4 and 6 May 2016. The final of quiz competition is held on 25 May 2016. The award ceremony for all competition categories is held 26 May 2016.
• The exhibition consist of the provincial winners of the painting, slogan and short story competitions are met with the visitors between 25 and 27 May 2016.
• The first of two worskshops for books about the EU and EU-Turkey relations was made to evaluate contents of the two books on 21st of July 2016. The second worskshop for books was made on 28st of November 2016.
• Between 4 and 10 September 2016, final three winning teams and their teachers of quiz competition were sent to Strasbourg and first three winners of painting, slogan and short story competitions were sent to Brussels for a study visit of 5 days as a reward.
• Two spot films are prepared.
• MoNE Staff’s Torino-Strasbourg study visit is made between 30 October and 5 November 2016.
• Second international conference with the theme of “Turkey and EU Common Values: Reflections on the Education System-2” is held between 16 and 17 November 2016 in Ankara.
• 100 seminars in 81 provinces are arranged under supervision of 180 coordinator teachers.
• Two course books are prepared about the EU and EU-Turkey relations and availabled both as digital and hard copy.
• MoNE Staff’s Brussels-Maastricht study visit is made between 27 November and 3 December 2016.
• Project closure activity is made.
